For those who were wondering what I was doing all semester. Love all my Great Basin family down in Nevada and will miss them so very much when I move on from Great Basin to Western Governors University-Nevada. Looking into some of their other programs to try to see what all I can do, I am loving it. I love everyone at Great Basin who had faith in me and would like to just say that a young man with cerebral palsy can succeed, I see a lot of parents telling their kids,”It is okay he has insert condition. I do want to thank my Mom, Step-Mom, Dad, Uncles, Aunts and other family members and friends for giving me that needed the boost of confidence. Without their kind words and sometimes tough love, I wouldn’t have made it this far. I was told by someone up at Great Basin I have an amazingly strong network of support and it has helped. As always, I look forward to working with my fellow Great Basin College Alumni and other groups I partook in far into the future.
I have been here before, one book ends, this last chapter was intense with what had happened over the summer with unfortunate and unlucky events. I have only had a couple of perfect semesters and this semester has been one of them. The highlight of this semester has been the support that I have found in the Treasure Valley area. Not only do I have people I barely know ask me how I am doing all the time, they talk to me about it and don’t degrade me! I miss Nevada, it is dear to my heart and I want to end up going back sometime!
As I develop from a younger adult to a regular adult, I know it sounds lame, as having the tools to do so. I am still navigating post-college landmines, but I will never forget those who at my worst told me it was going to be okay, got me over my mother’s death and taught me how fun it really is to get out there on that stage and act your ass off. Having learned a lot from college, I have learned more from talking to people about the different aspects of life. I really do have a purpose in life and I am searching for that purpose, only I can find it.
I met so many people I had actually wanted to meet with and talk to about different aspects of life. Not just politically, some of the best candidates that are running for the State of Nevada/Idaho listen to your recommendations and are willing to take that advice. I love all of this, but I must now go on and figure out how to use my successes in college and move it into the real world which is awesome. Will I open a small business? Can I join a firm? In the future, will I become a traveling mandolin/comedy act? Stay tuned as I plan to streamline my social media content, which may actually help explain some difficulties I have to others.
